Does my company have to offer benefits to domestic partners?
ACA Track cannot make these decisions for you, nor can we
offer any legal advice on such issues. We suggest speaking with your HR team
and legal counsel before making this decision.
The Affordable Care Act does not require companies to extend
coverage to domestic partners; however, companies may opt to do so at their own
discretion. If your company does offer benefits to unmarried domestic partners,
those benefits should mirror those available to spouses.
