Is my business required to provide health insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act?
ACA Track cannot make these decisions for you, nor can we
offer any legal advice on such issues. We suggest speaking with your HR team
and legal counsel before making this decision.
In general, any company that employs 50 or more Full-time
Equivalent (FTE) workers is required to provide health insurance coverage under
the Affordable Care Act. Companies with less than 50 FTE employees can still
provide health insurance to their employees, but there is no penalty if they
choose not to.
For more information about your company’s specific
requirements, see the IRS’s Affordable Care Act Tax Provision for Employers.
