“There is a problem with the State Data” error message. What does this mean? How can I fix it?
You received a State Data error for one of these reasons:

The State field for an employee was left blank. The State field is required. To correct this error, enter the employee’s state into this field and resubmit your data.

For US-based employees: You did not enter an approved 2-digit State code. To correct this error, verify that the State Code is a valid US state code and resubmit your data. For a complete list of approved US State Codes, see State Codes and Zip Codes.
